One of your unfound classmates is my cousin, Nancy Arenkiel Houston. She is living near her sister, in W. Pueblo, Co. and as of 2015 has been suffering from memory issues.
Classmates,
With a year passing since the 50th and a new yearly [I'm calling it the " Tuttle HHS63 Reunion"] happening today- I can't be there, see you next year - this procastinator wants to add to the kudos to Tom, Larry and the crew for the laudable accomplishment of the 50th. How wonderful it is that we have classmates who would take the time and effort to make these wonderful reunions happen. I know graduates
of other years from HHS who have not had the kind of class leaders it takes to put together such projects. I've been coming since the 20th and have enjoyed each one of them in their own way.
This brings me to a point I'd like to make on behalf of those of us
[ including myself] who were not " comfortable " in the social situation of high school. Wether it was bullies, cliques or just normal teenage angst some of us didn't thrive we were just trying to survive! As one clasmate at the 20th, in responce to my inquiry about the best thing she got out of high school, her answer was "ME". For those of us for whom the reunions are not about reconnecting but just about CONNECTING, These are our high school experiences and become our good memories.
So from all of us a special thank you to the committee members and to all who have come, interacted with us in conversation and created a special occassion!
My wife--Katie Overholt Peterson--and I Dan Peterson (class of '62) had a wonderful time at the reunion. We thank the planning committee for doing a fabulous job in making this a very memorable occasion. It was so much fun seeing so many old friends in such an uplifting event. Let's hope we can all get together again and enjoy this kind of pure joy! Thank You!
What an absolutely first-class event! Thank all of you on the organizing committee for all the great work you did. It was so much fun seeing the many people we hadn't seen in years, and realizing the impact that HHS had on all of us, our futures and the development of many life-long friendships. I like the idea of the more frequent, informal class get-together's and, while no longer living in Minnesota, will try to get to as many of these as possible. Thanks again!
I was impressed! Thanks to the committe! So nice to see so many old friends. Hope to see more of all of you in the future...easier now due to being retired. Until next time....
The reunion was everything the committee hoped for and more. To see all of us gathering smiling laughing and enjoying each other was a magical weekend. Now we're in the process of setting up a Same Time Next Year so it's always the same weekend, same place and it's a drop in, no price, no planning just seeing each other.
Being here at this stage of life is good reason to share all the 'wisdom' (and good laughs) gained from that early HHS experience! Looking forward to your comments and seeing you again - soon, at the 'Big One' in August 2013!
